Exposure

Guidelines

Symptoms and levels of severity can vary from person to person, as different people may react differently to the various field intensities and frequencies. Children and persons with weakened immune systems are more susceptible. Caution is needed in areas where you spend the most time with special attention given to sleeping areas. Any chronic exposure should be avoided. The EMF bio-risk recommendations listed here are based on the 2012 BioInitiative Report’s precautionary guidelines and the Building Biology Precautionary Guidelines for Sleeping Areas (SBM-2015). pdf

  • AC magnetic fields .2 – 1 mG
  • AC electric fields .3 – 1.5 V/m
  • Body voltage less than 10 – 100 mV
  • Radio Frequency radiation less than 10 μW/m²

The FCC based their recommended exposure guidelines on outdated reports published by the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP), using heating of tissues, not biological effects, as their guideline.

The World Health Organization based their recommended exposure guidelines on outdated reports published by the International Commission On Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).

The guidelines from the International Commission On Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection are not adequate to protect the public health and safety.

  • AC magnetic field exposure guideline less than 1000 mG
  • AC electric field exposure guideline less than 5,000 V/m
  • Radio Frequency radiation @ 2.45 GHz, 10,000,000 μW/m²
